Motogenn's Bike of the month - KTM Super Duke 1290 R

Author: Motogenn  Date Posted:1 September 2021

The KTM 1290 (actually a 1301cc!) Super Duke R is a 'naked' motorcycle with a V-twin engine from the Austrian manufacturer KTM.

After an update in 2017, the current motor is the most powerful LC8 engine ever built by KTM.

This week we picked up a great 2018 model with around 20000 kms.

The only damage was on the front wheel, so it is bent. Apart from that, mechanically the bike is in great condition.

Like every engine that comes off our bikes we did a compression test and gear box check and they are all within manufacturer's specifications.

We also ran the diagnostic tool to make sure there were no error codes and all the sensors are in working order.

Unfortunately the Forks and wheels for this one aren't any good.

As you can imagine the WP Suspension are in great condition and will serve the new owners with the best performance possible.

The electrical - wiring harness has been pulled completely out of the bike undamaged and intact.

The Brembo Front and rear calipers are in as new condition and the single sided swing arm doesn't even have a scratch on it!

The HMI cluster (speedo dash) on this bike is amazing and again in great condition as the previous owner made sure they put a screen protector on it.

All the parts and components removed from this motorcycle will be listed on our website shortly.
